Abstract

The structural support triangular in shape, is similar to a traditional roofing truss. The sloping beams and the cross-piece are made up of thin sheet-iron of semi-circular cross-section presenting their concave surfaces uppermost. The elements are reinforced along the edges which are connected to a freely sliding rod by pairs of bent-iron fasteners. Compressional forces applied to the assembly are directed onto the rod rather than the elements.
